Practice Opportunities

Providence Anchorage Anesthesia Medical Group was formed in 1992. We currently have over twenty anesthesiologists on staff. We routinely have an opening for US trained, Board Certified or Board eligible anesthesiologists. We envision adding one physician per year for practice growth and potential retirements. We are currently seeking a fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologist. We recruit eighteen to twenty four months in advance of our needs.

Character of Practice: Direct, one to one patient care. Acute, inpatient anesthesia services including a full range of surgical services with no transplant services. Strong work ethic and emphasis on personal character. High demands for strength of clinical skill set.

Special Focused Teams: Cardiovascular          Acute pain            Pediatrics

Call: All call is from beeper for those wishing to respond from home. We have a comfortable call room for those wishing to perform call from the hospital. Base levels of call outside of our special team (CV and pain) weeks of call include four first calls, four second calls, four OB calls, and one weekend elective call per thirteen week quarter. The day after first and OB calls are paid recovery days to keep our staff refreshed and focused on patient services.

Vacation: Hard work is balanced with emphasis on time off for relaxation and recovery. First and second year associate medical staff – eight weeks of PTO. Shareholders—eight to sixteen weeks of vacation per shareholder participation in our lottery process.

Economics: Solid incomes are earned with an income distribution plan (IDP) that rewards productivity and the demands of anesthesia services. Our IDP, vacation lottery, and call allocation systems are flexible and well integrated. They allow physicians that want to work more to do so and to be rewarded for their services. Physicians that wish greater balance in life between work and time-off are able to do so with time off exchanged for income opportunity.

Normal Progression to Shareholder is three years conditional upon meeting group expectations.

Benefits:
Strong pension plan
Group Health, Dental, Disability and Term Life
Professional Expense Reimbursement
