Ether was introduced as an anesthetic agent to relieve the pain associated with surgery in 1842. Modern anesthesia is one of America’s greatest gifts to the medical world. Anesthesiologists are doctors of medicine with three or more additional years of specialty training in anesthesia. Their principal function is to care for patients needs during surgery or obstetrics and in the immediate post-operative period. Providence Anchorage Anesthesia Medical Group (PAAMG) physicians are a team of highly trained and qualified physicians. Many have additional expertise in anesthesia subspecialties such as pediatrics, cardiovascular, and pain therapy. They have been administering anesthetics at Providence Alaska Medical Center for over ten years. If you have anesthesia questions before or after your hospital care, please call us between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at 907-279-0555. An anesthesiologist will be pleased to assist you. The PAAMG business office can also be reached at 907-279-0555 or at 3300 Providence Drive, Suite 207, Anchorage, Alaska 99508. |
